THANK GOODNESS I wasn't the only parent/person who didn't do something fun for Leap Day yesterday. I kind of...forgot about it? Until I opened social media and saw people talking all about what they were doing with their "extra" day. Which sent me in a tiny spiral because I was just living normal life over here like a dummy. But that was okay, after all. Also please send me a bananas foster cake, please and thank you.

We most definitely didn't do anything either! My oldest tried to tell me, "Did you know that some kids don't have to go to school on Leap Day?" I told him I didn't think that was a thing. 😆

Okay. I have so much to say. First of all, did you know your newsletter is one of the only newsletters I open IMMEDIATELY—I always seem to be sitting in the same spot on my bed with a nursing piranha. Forever thankful for this wonderful reading material to keep me company. I spent most of my leap day tending to sick kids and ended it day with a fever myself. I was low-key pissed about a day wasted so I really appreciated your encouragement that it was still a day filled with the people I love best—even if they’re snotty, chesty people. I am currently listening to that exact edition of Little Women on Libby and have been since Summer. I keep getting lost but I’m gona trust you and hang in there—because I’ve never actually finished Little Women 😬 Also, one of my earliest memories is the Barbie dress cake I had for my third birthday so this gave me all the feels 🥹 I’ve just sent a screenshot of the floral one to Paddy for my 30th bday inspo (which is a year away but he needs pre-warning to, like, figure out how to get it from America to Ireland? 👀😂). Also, when I read Lorren’s book concierge the other week, I immediately thought of you at the first recommendation. Now I am deeply satisfied with myself for getting it right and that might be the most productive thing I did all month.

Also how good are those ages and stages episodes? I’ve been very thankful for the middle years stuff recently 🤢 I have one, potentially two, neurodivergent offspring and sometimes it’s so freeing to hear something is actually just very developmentally normal and I’m not the only parent dealing with it!!

Came here to say that Little Women is also a comfort read for me too. I have a very dog-eared and sticky-taped copy.

All of your cakes impress me, but WOWW, major heart eyes for the Bananas Foster cake! I think you were the first reader in Lorren’s newsletter.
